HÉLÈNE ALTMANN, FOUNDER OF C'EST MA ROBE
An alarm time
6 :30 and i stretch
Your pro pedigree?
I wanted to be an archaeologist but I ended up in the commercial, cinema and press before starting C’est Ma Robe.
How did you get the idea of creating your business?
Whe I worked at Officiel all the girls needed dresses but didn’t want or couldn’t spend too much money on that matter.
There were many US websites but nothing in France. So I decided to start!
Everyone dreams of this second professional life but only few decide to do it: how did you do it?
At some point I really wanted to create something.
Once you go back home, do you keep working?
In the evening after dinner: 10 p.m until midnight. I check the website, social networks and e-mails.
Sunday is the day off… Well, at least I try!
Organization tips?
To create to-do lists! And to never procrastinate. And to never cancel anything because you don’t have time (for example my yoga classes).
An important moment
I have a lot of funny or moving moments like the one when I found my client in tears in the dressing room because she had never thought of being able to get married in a Valentino dress!
What gives you the most satisfaction in this adventure
I love everything about my job: to serve others, to have created my own business, to be the first person that have done it, to work in the fashion area, to meet my clients.
I also like the kindness and the support between women entrepreneurs.
And above all the fact that everyday becomes a real adventure to me!
The outfit that makes you confident during an important appointment?
High heels and a perfect haircut!
Your advices to launch a business?
Being surrounded, not to start alone. Believing in your own idea. Listening to advices but also listening to yourself. Knowing how to evolve and not being too stubborn.
And working, working, working!
Next challenge?
More dresses, more clients, more brands… and more people to work on the project.
Online fashion 24/24?
Necessarily.
Your “slowlife” thing
My books, my yoga and my family.
