AT HOME WITH... SOPHIE RIOUFOL // 58M
My apartment
It’s been three years that I live here. It was love at first sight when we saw it with my boyfriend first time. We were looking for a place without opposite and I wanted to live under roofs.
This artist’s studio on the top floor with a view of Paris and the sun all the time…. This is the home I had always dreamed of!
It’s a duplex apartment, which makes us feel like if we were in a country house in Paris.
My style
A purified interior is not for me. I like cozy places, colors, mixes of old and modern. There are many things acquired in antic shops. Before having a daughter we used to go to flea markets almost every week-end.
Everything in the house is dear to me. Those objects have stories and are with me for years.
Memories from here
A Christmas with friends and a huge Christmas tree. Or our first July 14 where we saw fireworks from our roof. Magic.
On my bookcase
Many paperback books, classics, Oscar Wilde, Chateaubriand, novels from Roald Dahl, Michel Déon, Henry Miller, a few books on painting and a lot of theater: Guitry, Anouilh…
On my coffee table
Diptyque candles that burn all the time: Pommander or Freesia. Vogue and Elle magazines have been dethroned by “I raise my child’ from Pernoud!
On my bedside table
My diary. I have been writing since always even if it’s random. I write down my dreams, song lyrics, lists, thoughts.
My artists
Jean-Philippe Delhomme, I have a huge screen and a drawing from him. My aunt, Marie Perron – I love her universe; she made me some drawings. I also like the ceramic artist Henriette Jansen. And her carpets.
My perfect moment
Sunday afternoon lying on the couch, reading a good book and listening to Billie Holiday.
The important interior element
The lighting without hesitation.
A purchase of my dreams
Hans Wegner’s Flag Halyard Chair
Our weekends
Since we both have jobs in exchange and communication area, our weekends are much quieter than other days. Some friends on Sunday. We spend a lot of time at home, summer and winter. And for now our life is punctuated by our daughter and we love it!

Pour son accueil chaleureux et son sourire ravageur... Aussi pour ses vases, sa vaisselle,
ses tapis, sa céramique… les couleurs d’Henriette sont une invitation au voyage
