IN A FEW WORDS
Guided tour
This apartment is an artist’s studio in which my mother used to work as a painter for many years. When I came back from Buenos Aires, I was looking for a calm place after spending several years in the hustle and bustle of this city.
Here, it feels like the countryside and yet you are just few minutes far from Etoile. I love the light of this apartment, its calm and the fact that there are lots of birds coming to nest!
I like a lot of different styles and that are places that inspire me. For example, my apartment in Buenos Aires is much different for this one! It’s much more spacious and very 1930s.
Here I wanted to create a “nest” for me, something that would be cozy and warm to counteract with the impressive height of the apartment.
We can find in here mane items that remind me of my various lives. Many of them come from Kenya and South America.
In a general way, I like the most furnitures and objects that “speak”, that tell a story. Otherwise my tastes are eclectic.
But wherever I am, there are two constans.
I love being surrounded by things related to art, my great passion: photographs, paintings, objects or books.
And there is always a scented candle lit at home. Diptyque’s berries that remind me of my travels to India, Verveine of Huygens, Thé Pashmina of Fariboles or Votivo’s candles. For the incenses, I buy them directly in one of the shops in Bondieuserie from St Sulpice Place.
My favorite artists:
- Sebastiano Mauri – I love his videos
- Sergio Quentin – for his monumental outdoor works
- Philippe Bemberg – an artist that I’m always amazed of
- Benjamin Loyseau – for his photos, especially the ones taken on the Central African Republic.
- Jean-Louis Faure and his humorous sculptures
- Pierre de Fenoyl who makes beautiful, black&white pictures
