IN A FEW WORDS
My style
We were living between Berlin and the US when we visited this apartment, and suddenly it was our firm favorite. Its space, the light, the calm and the birds in a very lively area of Paris seduced us. A real luxury!
The apartment has evolved over the years. We have been there for 10 years and we have reorganized it depending on which stage of life we were. An architect helped us with the idea of the upper part (mezzanine). But on the decoration matter I decided it with my husband. We share this passion together. I discovered the creation and the decoration while being a student and my first visual shock was the visit of the Contemporary Art part at the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt. There are works there that are still important to me like those of Alighiero Boetti.
I love Scandinavian style, natural colors and materials. Everything that is organic attracts me. But as we bring back a lot of objects from our travels it gives a joyful and eclectic mix far away from the pure style we dream of! I find that small objects give a soul to a house and sign an interior.
Our passion, Art
We are fans of new realists style of the School of Nice: Arman, César, etc. Recently I bought few things from this style at an auction.
And more than anything we love to discover artists like those presented at Pierre – Alain Challier gallery. One of their last exhibitions was about Bernar Venet. Extraordinary ... since that moment we dream of have one of his works!
I also like the photography. We often go to the Galerie de l’Instant rue de Poitou. The owner is a real enthusiast and his choices are always amazing.
A dream a bit crazy: to hang on my walls one day a portrait from Peter Lindbergh!
On our bookshelves
A lot of novels. And also many books on photography, fashion or architecture, my husband's passion.
And scented candles. My "madeleine of Proust": "Petits Papiers" candle from Mad et Len. I also like the rare creations of Francis Kurkdjian.
My Ideal Time
The breakfast during the weekend on our big table with the press, children who play and my man finally available!
