AT HOME WITH... LOïS MORENO, PHOTOGRAPHER
Our apartment
We moved to Lyon two and a half years ago. Before, we used to live in Bayonne.
My husband who is a pastry chef, was lucky enough to have a proposal in a restaurant here: L'Auberge de L'ile Barbe. The whole family moved.
We found our apartment very quickly, in 3 days. When I discovered this house with its apartments, I was unable to resist.
My style
I need to more and more refined atmospheres. It makes me feel comfortable.
In terms of decoration, I am especially sensitive to cozy atmospheres. But I do not like to be anchored in one style.
Just like in fashion, I am not at all an impulse buyer or a fashion addict. Everything we’ve got at home is either second-hand or found at flea markets.
Since my children are still small, I must confess that comfort is much more important than aesthetics.
My passion
I love to go to flea markets, to be guided by my discoveries.
On Sundays we often go to the garages or the flea markets in Lyon. We eat there, children buy little gifts and me too!
The room where I spend the most time
I love the kitchen. It is convivial with its large table, and the light and the view on the countryside, the Saône and the Monts d'Or are magic.
It is the centerpiece of the house. I spend most of my time there. And at my office.
My desires
A TOGO leather armchair
A beautiful dinner table for ten!
I also dream of an Honoré armchair.
My favorite moment
In the evening, when the children are lying down. I drink my tea quietly in the kitchen and the speed of the day goes down. From my window I see the Monts d'Or. The nature calms me. I really need it today.
On our walls
There are paintings of my father who is an artist, some of my photos and posters of creators that I like. I also like the collages of my kitchen, my entrance or my office. There are so many things I like!
Shopping
I try to consume thoughtfully. I prefer quality than quantity.
Consumption is really not what makes me live.
My Home Fragrances
I do not use too many candles for ecological reasons. I prefer home-based cleansers with essential oils or products from the Danish natural brand, Meraki.
Our weekends
My husband works, so I'm alone with our three children.
On Saturdays we spend time at home. The building is like a house. There are families, lots of children and a large garden downstairs. While they play I cook to prepare everything for the rest of the weekend.
On Sunday we go for a walk. We go out in the morning. We lunch outside and go back for a siesta.
When we receive friends, it’s either on Sunday night or Monday (these are my husband's days off). There is champagne and my husband makes a paella, one of his specialties. We are all together in the kitchen... I love these moments.
Lyon
On my first visit I fell in love with the beauty of this city. Its location close to the sea and the mountains and its proximity to Paris make it a very, very pleasant city to live.
Our projects
Leaving to live in the countryside, a few kilometers from Lyon. I want to have my studio, be able to create photo and kitchen workshops; to have my space, to have a different time perspective and to gain quality of family life.
In short I want to give a new impulse to our life!
