IN THE CLOSET OF... KATE DAVIS
In fashion I realize I’m more and more influenced by the city I live in. And also because of the change of my professional universe. My outfits are less formal than before.
But I still have this “uniform” detail – it’s because of my English roots! For example my colors: 5 shades of grey. And the most of time I wear jeans (always a slim) from Zara or MIH, a sweat shirt, a grey chasmere sweater (my favorite ones are at UNIQLO) or fine sweaters from COS(they look like John Smedley).
In the summer I wear T-shirts, especially at Zara, Cos or & Other Stories, so that I don’t hesitate if I have to throw them out at the end of season! My personal item is my Venna’s (Italian brand) dickey necklace that I wear at least twice a week.
If I wear skirts, it’s usually an A-line skirt with flat shoes or low-heeled and pointed shoes. In fact I love 1970s style that makes me think of what my mother used to wear and suddenly that makes me happy.
In the evening I love to dress up, it’s my English side again! Then I wear high heels and a red lipstick.
I enjoy much more accessories than clothes.
Shoes of course. I wear as well flat shoes during the day as high heels in the evening. I love J. Crew for shoes, especially their limited editions. Jimmy Choo also, Rupert Sanderson or Gianvito Rossi. For boots I love those at Michel Vivien that go perfectly with my rather classic style. I’m so attached to my shoes that I make them repair over and over again at an excellent shoemaker (Cordonnerie Alain, rue de l’Arbre Sec).
I cannot neither resist to bags. Clare Vivier, Milli Millu, Tila March or Anya Hindmarch are my favorite brands.
For jewelry I like to mix precious ones and costume ones. I always wear my engagement ring or my pendants, my family jewelry that I mix for example with Monica Vinader ring, the creator that I really appreciate. I also like buying ear tags on the website Les Trouvailles d’Elsa.
