AT HOME WITH... CÉLINE LEFÉBURE
My apartment
When we returned from London 9 years ago, we decided to settle in Neuilly, where I grew up: it is an ideal place for a family life. We fell in love with this apartment at first because of the large kitchen and the corridor. Nestled among trees, it is a very bright place. We broke a lot of walls to make it look like we wanted to. I always feel good here. And even when I come back from the most beautiful places in the world, I am happy to find my home!
A nice memory from here
From aperitifs with children to parties with friends, we spend a lot of time at home at the weekend.
My style
Just like in fashion - monochrome and timeless. With pretty materials and fabrics: wood, raw or lacquered, stone floors, white carpets to illuminate everything. On all the walls – white color to bring even more light. And no colors: I would love to but don’t know how to do it!
A compulsive purchase
It's like clothes, it's not in my nature. And in general, I always want things that don’t exist! Then I order them: the flower boxes, the coffee table, the console in the entrance, all the shelves...
On my walls
Black and white photos like those of David Parker, which I discovered in London. My favorite photo: the one of a rock in the middle of the water, in my office. Mark Seliger's George Washington Bridge, Jean-Marie Perier's Karl Lagerfeld - my fashionable tribute - and Melvin Sokolsky's models. I also love Vincent Gassin's monochrome paintings (obviously!) that I discovered in a Chinese decorative magazine. With Jean, my husband, we made a real investigation to find his track, it took us months! Today, we have two of his paintings, in the living room and in Emma's room.
Home fragrances
The musk fragrances of Baobab candles such as Massaï Spirit and Platinium, which I light at night.
A purchase I dream of
A photo made by Peter Beard but it’ll probably remain a dream. Otherwise a marble table for the kitchen, but as I can not find it anywhere ... I will have to order it!
On my bookshelves
Beautiful books of photos, decoration and fashion, which I hold with beautiful bookends in bronze.
On my bedside table
My alarm clock, my cell phone ... and a pile of books that I never read!
The things that count the most
The low pedestals in the living room, a wooden sculpture, my David Parker’s photo.
Inspiration
In the London apartments, with the decorators like Christian Liaigre, Gilles and Boissier.
I like everything that is simple, casual and chic, which you never get tired of. This is even the first question I ask myself when I see an object, similar as in fashion.
The thing that signs an interior
I love the timeless harmony that comes from a house, I hate things that stand out too much or too much of a decorator spirit ... unless it is Christian Liaigre!
